Alternative

The GRIN alternative built in the UK

People look for a GRIN alternative for ordinary reasons: a job it does not cover, a price that moved, or a product that grew in a direction they did not. Some of it is what public reviewers report, which is quoted with its source on the comparison page. This page is the honest version for UK brands: what changes on Herd, what you give up, and how the move actually goes.

A creator management platform for ecommerce brands, built around a CRM, email sequences, affiliate links and deep Shopify integration. For a lot of people that is enough, and if it is enough for you there is no reason to move.

Herd is a UK product with three sides in one account. Creators run content, deals, contracts and invoices. Brands run campaigns, review content and pay creator invoices by card. Agencies run a roster with commission splits and white-label client portals. Herd costs £999/month for brands, billed in pounds. That breadth is the whole trade: Herd covers more of the week, and in a few places it covers it less thoroughly than GRIN does.

The rest of this page is the practical version: what lands in the same account when you switch, what you give up by leaving GRIN, what it costs in pounds, and the order to do the move in. There is no importer, so it is manual work, and that belongs above the pricing table rather than under it.

What changes when you switch

Each line below is something we could not find in GRIN's published feature list when we checked on 21 September 2026, or a difference in how the two are priced. On Herd they are part of the same account, which is the practical difference a switch makes.

  • Not in GRIN

No creator-facing product. The creator does not have an account with a pipeline, invoices or a media kit.

  • Not in GRIN

No agency roster, commission split or payout model.

  • Not in GRIN

    No GBP pricing.

  • Not in GRIN

    No in-app video meetings.

  • Different on Herd

Credit pricing means the cost moves with usage rather than sitting still.

In practice that means a campaign that carries the brief, the invited creators, the deliverables and the deadlines, content review instead of an approval thread in email, and a creator invoice you pay by card inside Herd. Herd has no audience-demographics database and no affiliate or sales attribution, so a discovery tool often stays.

What you would give up

A switch costs you something. These are GRIN's advantages, not ours, and any one of them can be a good reason to stay where you are.

  • Widely used for ecommerce creator programmes, rated 4.6 on G2 across 362 reviews when we checked on 21 September 2026.
  • Affiliate links and discount codes with GMV tracked back to the creator. Herd has none of this.
  • A deep Shopify integration, including product gifting.
  • Month-to-month billing and a free tier, which is unusual at this end of the market.
  • Email sequencing for outreach at volume.

Moving over

There is no importer. Herd cannot read a GRIN export, and we would rather say that plainly than bury it. Moving is manual, for most people an afternoon rather than a fortnight, and this is the order that leaves the fewest gaps.

  1. Export what you can

Creator records export from GRIN as CSV. Re-add the active ones to the Herd creator CRM by hand.

  2. Leave the affiliate programme where it is

Affiliate links and codes have no equivalent in Herd. Keep that programme where it is.

  3. Re-create live campaigns

Re-create live campaigns in Herd with the brief, deliverables and deadlines.

  4. Invite the people you work with

Invite the creators you work with to Herd so contracts and invoices can run on shared records.

What each one costs

A free tier with 200 credits a month, then $200, $500, $1,000 or $1,500 a month in USD for larger credit allowances, with overage at $0.10 a credit. Those figures are from GRIN's own pricing page, last checked on 21 September 2026. Herd is priced in pounds and costs £999/month for brands, with 17% off when you pay for the year and a 14-day cooling-off period on every paid plan.

Campaigns

One campaign record both sides can see

A Herd campaign holds the brief, the creators, the deliverables and the dates, and the creator is looking at the same record from their own account. That is the part a discovery tool cannot do, because the creator is not in it.

  • Briefs, creator invitations, deliverables and deadlines on one campaign.
  • Content review with real statuses, instead of approvals buried in a reply-all thread.
  • The creator answers inside the campaign, then invoices you through it.
